Description
General aspect and origins - Eucharis amazonica is also known as the Amazon lily. This bulbous plant is native to South America, and more precisely to Columbia. This plant has both ornamental foliage and flowers.
Leaves - This plant have evergreen lanceolate leaves, which are about 3 in (45 cm) long. They also have long petioles.
Flowers - Flowers are ornamental, white, fragrant, look like daffodil and are grouped in clusters of about 5-6. They generally appear in winter, but can bloom several times through the year.Culture
This plant dislikes temperatures below 50°F (10°C), but can survive lower temperatures (35-40°F) for a brief time. This plant can thus be grown outdoors in USDA zones 10-11 and should be kept indoors in colder areas.
