Dalechampia roezliana is a species which was dedicated to Jacques Delacamp, a French botanist who wrote Historia generalis plantorum in 1554.
D. roezliana is a perennial which is native to Argentina and Mexico. It is a small shrub with erect stems, unlike other Dalechampia species. It can be up to about 1.5 ft (45 cm) tall and wide.
In temperate zones, D. roezliana should be overwintered indoors or under glass. In summer, it can be grown outdoors, in a location that provides light shade during the warmest hours of the day.
Leaves are evergreen, alternate, simple, serrated, oval to elliptic and acuminate.
Flowers are small and not very showy. But they are surrounded by stricking pink bracts which are about 1-1.5 in (3 cm) long. In warm climates, D. roezliana virtually blooms all year long.
