Woodwardia radicans

Woodwardia radicans, also known as rooting chainfern or chain fern, is sometimes named Blechnum radicans. It is native to Southern Europe, and is also found in North America and in Asia. This fern has an original propagation method : they produce a plantlet at the tips of each frond.
This fern can withstand cold temperatures down to about 23°F (-5°C). It thus can be grown in USDA zones 9 and warmer. It also can be tried in zones 8, with a heavy mulch as a winter protection.
 
This fern has evergreen bipinnate fronds, that can be up to 6 ft (1.80 m) long.
