Trevesia palmata
snowflake plant

Trevesia palmata is also known as snowflake plant. This is a tree which is native to the subtropical areas of Asia. It can reach up to 15 to 30 ft (5 to 10 m) tall. Its leaves are deeply lobed and very ornamental.
This tree can grow in a large range of expositions, from almost full shade to sunny exposures. However, it is a frost tender plant, which should be grown in areas with very mild winters, in USDA zones 10 and warmer.

This tree has a very ornamental foliage. Leaves are evergreen and have a shiny upper side. They are up to 20 in (50 cm) wide and more, and are deeply lobed, with an entire center. They look like stylized snowflakes, hence the common name.
This plant has tiny scented flowers, which are grouped in globose inflorescences, which look like inflorescences of other plants belonging to the Araliaceae family, including the English ivy.

This plant prefers a drained and fairly moist ground.
