Jovellana violacea
 
Jovellana violacea is a small shrub which is native to Chile, that bears pale inflated flowers. There are 6 species in the genus Jovellana, including Jovellana sinclarii, from New-Zealand.
This plant can withstand temperatures down to about 22°F/24°F (-5°C to -6°C), and thus can be grown in USDA zones 9a and warmer.
 
Jovellana violacea has small semi-decidious leaves, that are deeply lobed.
This shrub has small pale violet inflated flowers, and look like calceolarias, which are related. They bloom in late spring and early summer.
