Jerusalem thorn
 
Parkinsonia aculeata, also known as Jerusalem thorn, is a decidious tree that is native to tropical America. This tree can be large and pendulous, and can be about 25 ft (8 m) high.
The Jerusalem thorn is fairly frost-hardy, and will withstand short frosts down to about 18°F (-7.5°C)
 
The Jerusalem thorn has decidious to semi-decidious bipinnate leaves, that can be up to 9 in (22.5 cm) long.
This tree bears loose and pendulous clusters of small yellow flowers with orange patches at their basis.
Fruits are pods, which can be up to 4 in (10 cm) long.

The Jerusalem thorn can grow in a large range of soils. It is very drought-hardy, and can grow in dry areas.
