Romneya coulteri is also known as Matilija poppy or tree poppy. This perennial shrub is native to Southern California, and can be up to about 6 ft (2 m) tall. It has a deeply lobed grey-green foliage, and large white flowers.
This plant is relatively frost hardy, as it will withstand negative temperatures down to about 15°F (-10°C)

Flowers are white with yellow stamens, and can be more than 8 in (20 cm) wide. They are slighly fragrant.
