Myoporum laetum
ngaio tree
 
Myoporum laetum is also known as Myoporum perforatum, and Ngaio tree in Maori. This shrub or little tree is native to New-Zealand.
It is a fast grower that can withstand salt and winds in coastal areas. Moreover, it is fairly frost hardy. This tree can withstand negative temperatures down to about 20°F, (-7°C) but the foliage will be damaged below 27°F. (about -3°C)
 
Leaves are evergreen, glossy, and can be up to about 4 in (10 cm) long. Young shoots tend to be sticky.
Flowers are small and white, often with some dark purple traces.
Fruits are dark purple.
