Tetrapanax papyrifera

Tetrapanax papyrifera is also known as the rice paper plant. It is native to Taiwan and Southern China, and can grow up to more than 20 ft (6 m) tall, although it will be smaller in culture.
The rice paper plant can withstand temperatures down to about 22°F-24°F (-5°C to -6°C). However, foliage will be damaged at about 24°F-26°F (-4°C)
 
Leaves of the rice paper plant are evergreen and very ornamental. They can be more than 20 in (50 cm) wide, are glossy deep-green on the upper side and paler and pubescent on the lower side.
Inflorescences are also ornamental. They can be up to 3 ft (1 m) long. Flowers are small, white, globose, and are grouped in clusters.
Fruits of the rice paper plant are small and black.
