Description

General aspect and origins - Cyathea cooperi is also known as the Queensland tree fern, or more usually, lacy tree fern. It is in fact native to Australia, and grows along the coast of Queensland and New South Wales. This tree fern can reach up to 15 to 30 ft (5 to 10 m) tall in its native areas, but it will usually be up to 10 ft (3 m) tall when grown in gardens.
Leaves - The fronds of Cyathea cooperi can be up to 8' (about 2.50 m) long but will be smaller when grown in a container.

Culture

This showy tree fern is not one of the most frost hardy Cyathea. However, it can withstand brief negative temperatures such as 28°F down to 24°F and even 22°F, depending on the conditions.
Soil - Cyathea cooperi needs a well-drained and moist ground.

Propagation

Cyathea cooperi is propagated by seeds.
