Description

General aspect and origins - Retama monosperma is also known as Genista monosperma, and more commonly as bridal veil broom or simply bridal broom. It is a large shrub that may reach 20 ft (6 m) across. It is native to Spain and southern Africa.
Leaves - bridal broom has very few leaves, on slender and drooping green stems.
Flowers - Retama monosperma has white tiny flowers, which are very fragrant.

Culture

Bridal broom is not very cold-hardy, but can withstand negative temperatures of about 26°F-28°F.
This plant is considered as an invasive species in some regions and states such as California, USA.

Propagation

Bridal broom is generaly propagated by seeds.
