Hi all i m curios if somebody was experimenting with Eriobotrya, ...grafting it into other Rosacea plants .if somebody tryes such crazy things i would be happy to hear from it. Greetings from cold slovakia
Hi Lazlo, I didn't try it myself, but I think that E. japonica is often grafted on some Crataegus species, or quinces (Cydonia sp.) As a result, the tree is said smaller and more frost-hardy (this last feature should please you, in Slovakia )
Hi I wonder whether such a graft increases the risks for fire blight. After all, loquat is midly susceptible to fire blight by default. With Crataegus ou Pyracantha rootstock, this risk may well increase. Just my $0.2, however. Hope you can successfully graft your loquats. Regards
