Could someone please suggest how I can remove the volunteers from my
Traveler Palm so they can be planted in another location.

I don't want to hurt my very mature Traveler Palm.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Kotvos,
I did not perform the opperation myself so I don't guarantee anything ; however, I think Ravenala sp. suckers should be handled just like Musa or Strelitzia suckers : just verify before you remove the suckers that they allready developped some roots. If so, I think they should grow fine.

I think, with two key elements, the operation should be fine:

- rooting hormones

- don't remove small pups, only offshoots with a minimum size.

Ravenalas are very impressive plants, btw. Even under glass. I've had one for several years.
