Every year, hybridizers introduce new Passiflora hybrids. For instance,
- Passiflora 'Inspiration’ : a tetraploid remake of the infected P. 'Incense', it has no virus but needs good conditions nevertheless. The parents are P. incarnata x P. cincinnata = 4n. This hybrid is interesting because of its relative frost hardiness, but also because it is able to pollinate 'Byron Beauty'. So it is possible to have good fruits of these passion flowers. and
- Passiflora 'Blue Eyed Susan' :a tetraploid and very vigorous and easy hybrid, (incarnata x edulis) x (incarnata x cincinnata) = 4n.
Passiflora 'Inspiration’ was introduced by R. Fischer Passiflora 'Blue Eyed Susan' was introduced by R. Fischer and Carolee Anita Boyles.
For the moment, I guess that these hybrids are still hard to find. But they are very likely to prove interesting for the Passiflora enthusiast.
