 Hello, I'm pretty new to growing palms ; I heard a palm enthusiast talk about palms that would be hardy in my area, but i'm not sure of the name : need palm or something... Can't find much information on Google.
Any thought about that? I'm looking for the scientific name.

Hi Erik and welcome,
You're certainly refering to Rhapidophyllum hystrix, A.k.a. needle palm.
You palm enthusiast friend was right about its hardiness, as it is at least a USDA zone 8 palm. Even heard about frost resistance of about 6b but it is to be verified.
Beware of the sharp spines of this palm, as its name suggests!
